Cheers to Summer 2017!

KAYAKING ON ALOUETTE LAKE, BRITISH COLUMBIA

Alouette Lake is 15 minutes drive from our house. Yes, you read that correctly.... 15 minutes.

Located in the beautiful Golden Ears Provincial Park in British Columbia, Alouette Lake is 8km of heaven on earth. You can paddle or boat in for a few minutes and you are surrounded by 360 degrees of mountain ranges.

MAPLE RIDGE STREETS, BRITISH COLUMBIA

Maple Ridge is about 40 minutes from Vancouver, BC and it's a dream small town. The streets have beautiful tall trees and mountains peaking at the end of most streets. Pictured below was around Spring when the Cherry Blossoms were in full bloom - blessed.

CAMPING/EXPLORING VANCOUVER ISLAND, BRITISH COLUMBIA

This weekend was one for the books, a proper family vacation on Vancouver Island in British Columbia.

We camped in Goldstream Provincial Park and took a fishing trip with No Bananas Charters.

GOLDEN EARS PROVINCIAL PARK, BRITISH COLUMBIA

Golden Ears, you're so beautiful. The forests are fairytales. Most of the trees are covered in masses of green moss and look like Narnia. The best of all is that this is only 15 minutes from Walter's house - basically his backyard. #mountainman. Pictured below, we are strolling through the woods with Jashke &. Rob who joined us from Australia.

JESSIE'S GRADUATION, OAKVILLE ONTARIO

Another highlight of my summer was my sister's graduation. We all got the chance to dress up to celebrate our Jessie!

HARRISON HOT SPRINGS, BRITISH COLUMBIA

With no boards or signs, you’ll find it by getting directions from the park guide from a nearby campsite. Turn right at the big sand dunes around 33km in (you can't miss it), then set your speedometer for about 17km and the hot springs are hidden on your right. These are man made tubs with pipes filling the tubs. Great concept, thank you to whomever is keeping maintenance on this natural treasure!

ALOUETTE RIVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA

Another Alouette post, but it's our favourite place and it's conveniently close. On weekends, Golden Ears Provincial Park is SO busy, so retreat to other areas of the Golden Ears like hiking up the Alouette River.
